Alpharetta at one point in time was merely farmland.  Over the years it has blossomed.  Alpharetta is connected to Atlanta by GA 400 and is located directly north of the city.

Ansley Park is a prestigious residential neighborhood and home to the Ansley Park Country Club.  It is located just east of Midtown and north of Piedmont Park, with extremely easy access to downtown and all major interstates. One of the first suburban neighborhoods in the city, 1905, it was designed for automobiles.
 

Ashford Park and Drew Valley are very popular, close-in, affordable housing neighborhoods.  These are located in DeKalb County and lies in-between Peachtree Road and Clairmont Road.

Brittany area of Brookhaven is an amazingly quaint exclusive swim/tennis and lake community in Brookhaven.

Brookhaven is a neighborhood in the northern area of Atlanta just north of Buckhead and south of Dunwoody.  This area was known for being built as a country club neighborhood, Capital City Club.

Brookwood Hills is one of Atlanta’s oldest intown neighborhoods.  This historical neighborhood still maintains its 1920’s charm with various styles or architecture even though the city has grown tremendously around it.

Buckhead is a community, comprising several neighborhoods, forming roughly the northern one-fifth of Atlanta, Georgia and just inside the perimeter.  It lies on GA 400, and in minutes you can be on I-285 or I-75/85.

Cabbagetown is Atlanta's oldest industrial settlement, founded in 1885, the community was made of mostly of laborers at the Fulton Bag & Cotton Mill until the mill shut down in early 1970s. Many of the mills laborers came from the N. GA Appalachians and brought their rich mountain culture, including their religion, crafts, folklore and music to the city.
 

Cambridge Park/Hampton Hall are two Brookhaven communities adjoined by a swim and tennis club.  The neighborhoods flow from one to the other, and the homes are very similar.

Candler Park is located about 5 minutes east of downtown Atlanta and just south of Ponce De Leon Avenue.   This National Register of Historic Places neighborhood is one of Atlanta's first suburbs and was founded as Edgewood in 1890.

Chastain Park Ampitheatre

Chastain Park is a lovely, multifaceted 158-acre park run by the City of Atlanta and features an 18-hole golf course, baseball fields, basketball courts, football fields, a children's playground, Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool, full service tennis center, a crafts center and an art gallery. Also, the Chastain Park Amphitheater is an outdoor performance center that hosts wonderful musical productions during the spring and summer months.

Collier Hills neighborhood rises from Tanyard Creek and the railroad line to Northside Drive. Most of the homes here were built shortly after World War II.

Danbury Park




Decatur was founded at the intersection of two Native American trails. The town was named for naval hero Stephen Decatur. It is located in DeKalb County just east of downtown Atlanta.

Downtown Atlanta refers to the largest financial district for the city of Atlanta. It is the heart of the city. This area contains striking architecture dating as far back as the late 1800's.

Dunwoody is in northern DeKalb County, just outside of I285 and very centrally located near GA 400.  The community was named for Major Charles Dunwoody. Dunwoody is one of the wealthiest and most prestigious areas within Greater Atlanta, with many elegant homes, highly-ranked schools, and abundant shopping and entertainment options including Perimeter Mall.

East Atlanta is an area located southeast of downtown. It is generally considered to be roughly 10% of Atlanta's area; part is in DeKalb County while the remainder is in Fulton.

Emory Area is mostly called this because of Emory College and Emory University. Garden Hills is a perfect intown location with winding streets lined with old trees, a mix of early 20th century homes, pocket parks, landscaped traffic islands and a neighborhood pool/recreation center – all convenient to shopping, transportation, schools and churches. The oldest streets were given historic district status in 1987.

Grant Park is Atlanta's largest Historic District and home to Zoo Atlanta, 131 acres of Green space, Oakland Cemetery and the Cyclorama. The neighborhood was named for L. P. Grant, a civil engineer for the Georgia Railroad who has been called the "Father of Atlanta."

Hillsdale Community in Brookhaven is located between Pine Hills and Brookhaven Heights.  It's a wonderful neighborhood of 200+ homes located right off of North Druid Hills.  HillDale is unique because they have not had the benefit of new construction to inflate the prices of the homes. The majority of the homes in the neighborhood are the original brick 3 bed 1.5 bath homes, although many of those homes have been modified throughout the years to accommodate growing families.

Inman Park is Atlanta's first planned community, located just 2 miles east of downtown, the original developer of Inman Park believed that people should live in a country like atmosphere convenient to the central business district. The neighborhood consists of beautiful Victorian homes built on large lots, curving streets and open park areas. The neighborhood began a revitalization in the 1970’s that continues today.

Kestwick Village

Kirkwood was an early streetcar suburb to Atlanta and street cars continued service the community until the early 1950’s. In 1922, Kirkwood was annexed into the city of Atlanta. Kirkwood has experienced several racial transitions since then and is now a racially diverse community.

Lake Claire consists of several streets and developments that became incorporated into Atlanta one-by-one around the 1910s.  Today Lake Claire is a neighborhood unit recognized by the City of Atlanta.
 
Lenox Mall area

Little Five Points (also L5P or LFP) is an area of Atlanta, Georgia, 2.5 miles (4 km) east of downtown and refers to the intersection at the center of the region. It was established in the 1920s as the commercial district for the Inman Park neighborhood, which lies to the west, and is home to many nicely-restored bungalows and post-Civil War era homes line the peaceful streets nearby, including a good number of respectable bed-and-breakfasts and good eats.
 
Loring Heights, a small neighborhood in Midtown Atlanta, was developed right after WW II. Most of the original residents were employees of the Atlantic Steel plant.
 
Lynwood Park is located in the heart of Brookhaven and is one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods being devolped in the early 1930’s.  This historic neighborhood is located off of Windsor Parkway and has an abundance of new construction, craftsman style homes available.

Mableton, Ga is just north west of the Smyrna/Vinings area of Atlanta.  It's considered the upper west side of Metro Atlanta and offers a whole lot of things to do. Mableton claims 42 eateries, a wide selection of passtimes, some parks and playgrounds, a museum, and just a wonderful place to live.

Marietta is a city located in central Cobb County, and is its county seat. It is one of metro Atlanta's largest suburbs. It is located outside of I-285 in-between I-75 and GA 400.

Midtown Atlanta is a district in Atlanta situated between downtown to the south and Buckhead to the north. Midtown is the arts and entertainment heart of the city. It is the home of the Fox Theatre, the Woodruff Arts Center, the Richard Meier-designed High Museum of Art, as well as the Atlanta Ballet Company, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and other arts and entertainment venues.

Morningside/Lenox was developed in 1931 as streetcar suburb, these neighborhoods prevented an interstate project from dividing their neighborhood in half in the early 1970s.
 

Murphey Candler Park  is the area we call inside I-285, along Ashford Dunwoody and stretching to Chamblee Dunwoody.  It has its own recreational area, including a ball park, jogging trail, tennis courts, and swimming pool.

North Buckhead is a residential, mixed-use and urban neighborhood inside the City of Atlanta, north of the Lenox Square area. It is conveniently located and has easy access to Atlanta's best shopping and to the majority of its finest restaurants.

Norcross, Ga

Oakhurst lies in the southwest section of the City of Decatur.  Arts and Crafts style bungalows are what you can expect to see on most streets, with a few early ranch-style homes.

Oglethorpe Estates

Ormewood Park is located to the east of downtown between Grant Park, East Atlanta and the new Glenwood Park development. It is a lovely turn-of-the-century streetcar consisting mostly of Craftsman bungalows.

Peachtree Battle

Pine Hills

Reynoldstown and Edgewood are located about 1 mile east of downtown, and were settled by freed slaves looking for work in the railroad, sawmill and timber industries after the Civil War.  In the 1930s, with the decline of railroads, came the decline of the neighborhood.

The Virginia-Highland neighborhood was founded in the early 20th Century as a streetcar community. The name came from the commercial district at the intersection of Virginia and North Highland Avenues.

Woodland Hills is located between, Lavista, Cheshire Bridge, and Lenox Roads.  With the neighborhoods great intown location, you can get to Buckhead or Midtown in minutes.
